CLINCHER SOFTBALL FUNDRAISER

Since 2021 Jacque & Nick Dorazio have been organizing a fundraiser for the local Honor Flight. Over the years they have been supporting vets in various capacities.... being members of Post 154, Tybee Island Georgia, kicked off their dedication. Nick was a procurement officer for SAL. Jacque was their web designer and marketing person to promote their fundraising events. Once they moved to The Villages, amazed at the population of vets here, they came up with a new idea to support local vets- thx to Rec D4 players! ..... the best was yet to come AND continues!

D4 ROCKS!

This past December's Clincher Honor Flight Fundraiser was just freaking awesome! Although the weather was not as great as what we are accustomed to, there were still a good number of wonderful, kind hearted souls that not only donated toward this great cause, but came out to take part in trying to hit this 16" softball or just enjoy the company of our D4 family gathering at year's end!.... Following are highlights from when it all began- Nick and I hope that we all continue to grow the support of Honor Flight- especially to our own local vets! Nick and I thank all of you from the bottom of our hearts! We are truly blessed to know all of you....

The 1st Annual Clincher Game

As you see- there were not many who played in 2021. It all began for fun after Nick learned from D4 players originating from Chicago about a 16" softball game they played - "you never played ball until you play Clincher" Nick was curious about this softball game and discovered the great history behind it-At the same time, Nick, and wife Jacque were trying to come up with a cool fundraising idea for local vets- Villages Honor Flight.... What a perfect solution! The history of softball and a fundraiser combined for fun with this kids game all our D4 guys love to do!.... AND SO IT BEGAN.....

December 2022 kicked off the 1st annual Clincher game fundraiser for Honor Flight! The 2021 was so much fun and it caught on fast!We had a great turn out for the 2022 event- even the significant others came out for a fun, relaxing morning! ... As the promo indicated- Dorazio's provided coffee & donuts- Coffee was fresh ground & brewed by Nick, King Donuts from Leesburg made it all worth coming for:) .... The tradition remains with Bob & Debbie Schrader now bring the 10 dozen donuts!! and devoured fast!! MaryLou Horanzy added to the yummy table with her chicken salad sliders!
